According to CEO Arvind Krishna, IBM plans to pause hiring as it aims to replace around 7,800 jobs with AI in the coming years.

Hiring in back-office functions like human resources will be suspended or slowed, and about 30% of non-customer-facing roles could be replaced by AI and automation in five years.

Dr Geoffrey Hinton, known as "the Godfather of A.I.," has left Google to freely voice his concerns about the potential dangers of AI and its impact on society.
